CIDR

CIDR contains progesterone.

It is licensed for the following indications in cattle:

1. Control of the oestrous cycle in cycling cows and heifers:

Use in combination with prostaglandin F2α.
Use as recommended normally results in oestrus 48-96 hours after device removal with the majority of animals showing oestrus within 48-72 hours.

2. For induction and synchronisation of oestrus in Fixed Time Artificial Insemination (FTAI) protocols:

Use in combination with prostaglandin F2α.
Use in combination with Gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) and PGF2α.
Use in combination with PGF2α and equine chorionic gonadotrophin (eCG).

Each CIDR device contains Progesterone. 1.38 g. A CIDR “T” shape device consists of progesterone impregnated silicone elastomer skin moulded over an inert nylon spine. Legal category POM
