Rispoval IBR-Marker live

Rispoval IBR-Marker live is the only vaccine in Ireland licensed for cattle at immediate risk of IBR. 

Only Rispoval IBR Vaccines provide IBR abortion protection.

1. Cattle at immediate risk of IBR

Rispoval IBR-Marker live is used as a single dose intramuscular injection in cattle over 3 months of age, to provide 6 months duration of immunity.

Cattle at immediate risk, e.g. in the face of an outbreak, should receive a single dose of Rispoval IBR-Marker live intranasally, followed by a single dose of Rispoval IBR-Marker live intramuscularly 3-5 weeks later.

No other IBR vaccines are licensed for use in cattle at immediate risk of IBR.

Calves from 2 weeks of age to 3 months of age should receive a single dose of Rispoval IBR-Marker live by intranasal appplication with a follow up dose intramuscularly at 3 months of age. Animals at immediate risk of IBR should be vaccinated intranasally with a follow up dose intramuscularly.

 A single dose of Rispoval IBR-Marker live requires a single dose booster vaccination 6 months later with either

1. Rispoval IBR-Marker live to provide 6 months of protection or
2. Rispoval IBR-Marker inactivated to provide 12 months of protection*

Thereafter, single dose booster vaccinations should be administered

1. Every 6 months (if using Rispoval IBR-Marker live) or
2. Every 12 months (if using Rispoval IBR-Marker inactivated)

2. IBR abortion protection

Only Rispoval IBR-Marker vaccines provide IBR abortion protection. To protect female cattle against IBR abortions use:

1. A single intramuscular dose of Rispoval IBR-Marker live followed 6 months later by a single dose booster using Rispoval IBR-Marker inactivated or
2. Two intramuscular doses of Rispoval IBR-Marker live 3-5 weeks apart

Thereafter, single dose booster vaccinations should be administered

1. Every 12 months (if using Rispoval IBR-Marker inactivated) or
2. Every 6 months (if using Rispoval IBR-Marker live)

No other IBR vaccines are licensed for IBR abortion protection.
